March 24th is observed as Cheesesteak Day, when America pays tribute to a sandwich that started out as regional and is now considered a classic faves in far away places by people who’ve yet to visit Pennsylvania….

Now as a long time resident of New York CIty, there’s a new local, signature sandwich in town that came onto the big apple scene around the same time as me (circa 1998) — and many say is NYC’s answer to the Philly cheese steak.
